Trikomo is a large predominantly Greek mixed in the occupied part of the Ammochostos District. It is the birthplace of the leader of EOKA General George Grivas Digenis.
Geographical Location: It lies 20 km North of Ammochostos, on the boundary that separates the Mesaoria plane from the Karpasia peninsular.
Population: The population of this community consisted in 1960 of 2.188 Greeks and 7 Turks.
Christian Places of Worship: Within this community, are the churches of Agios Georgios, Panagia and the chapels of Agios Andronikos, Panagia Theotokos, Agios Iakovos, Agios Athanasios, Agios Iakovos (new), Agios Thomas.
Schools: The 1 Greek Primary Schools had 253 students during the 1973-74 school year.
Effects of the 1974 Turkish Invasion: During the Turkish Invasion of 1974, this community was taken over by the Turkish army and as a result the whole of its Greek population was ethnically cleansed. Since then, the Turkish occupation forces and the illegal occupation authority prevent their return.
